Arma & Rex (PSI-COM) and PSI-COM Skirmishers

Had an itch to draw some more of CommanderPlease and MissEmberMenia's ADVENT characters and turn them into tieflings for our mutual friend Hunter's PSI-COM Campaign (essentially XCOM meets Dungeons and Dragons).

Rex as a Skirmisher instructor and retired frontliner

Arma as a PSI-COM recruit, ward of the Commander

My character's (Peanut) recruitment to the Skirmishers after sneaking into their camp after tailing their group. Left to Right: Rex, Sota, Peanut, Nico

Full Body Character Commission: Vania Pokémon Trainer

From the same client who had previously commissioned the Vulpix PokéSona comes Starbright Bunny's Original Character as a Pokémon Trainer.

I was basically given free reign for poses, outfit style, and colour palette; so I used this commission as a good way of breaking down my method of handling the presentation of each of these elements to a client.

Finished character (full body flat colours commission)

Pose thumbnails and trainer outfit varieties for the client to select their preferences
(Pose E was selected with outfit elements from Pose A and Pose F)

Refined outfit design and colour swatch examples

If you are interested in this sort of commission for your own characters, please look to the Commission Information Page for rules, other examples, and pricing details!

Quarantine Monthly Challenge

While I typically participate in #MerMay on Instragram as a daily drawing challenge, I happened to start this May in government-mandated quarantine (since I was returning from visiting my boyfriend in the States). As a result, I decided to do a half-month daily, to represent the 14 days during which I was stuck at home.

As it happens, Adorkastock (who I support on Patreon) had just launched a beta version of their Sketch App which was a wonderful resource for pose references. I took inspiration from a selection of poses, and for some I gathered colour palettes off of Canva to see what sort of masked character designs I could come up with.

Character Reference Sheet Commission - Vulpix Pokésona for Starbright Bunny

Had an absolute blast working on this character reference commission for a client from a shared Discord server. If you are interested in commissioning a reference sheet for your own original characters, please look to the Commissions Information page for rules and details!

Self Portrait Wallpaper (Kill La Kill credits style)

Was thankful that I had decided to go with a simple concept for February's monthly art piece, because this month was certainly eventful! My Nana passed away, which resulted in a lot of arrangements at her house, sorting of items, as well as a lot of driving around to pick up family members.

That said, having recently watched Kill La Kill with my boyfriend, I was inspired to do a wallpaper in the style of the 2nd credits sequence. It was a fun style to work with and an excellent chance to work with simplifying details.

Skul: The Hero Slayer - Indie Game Fanart

One of my 2021 New Year's Resolutions was to beef up my art portfolio with more substantial illustrations, concept art, and character designs; as to push myself as an artist, as well as have a better representation of my work online.

As a result, January's challenge was both a celebration of the rouge-like/rogue-lite pixel indie game Skul: The Hero Slayer (in time for it's Steam official release) and something I'd never tried as an artist: playing around with an infinity mirror perspective!

Finished Piece

My overarching concept was to play on the gameplay of swapping Littlebone's into other forms, with it represented in the other skuls as reflections. The dark quartz in the foreground (and reflected on the left) plays an important part of the storyline and mechanically allows the player to upgrade Littlebone's skills through each new run. There are a few Easter Eggs for those who've played the game in Early Access mode, as well as a skul that you only get as part of the tutorial.

On Northern Tides Cast

While the Pathfinder campaign fizzled out due to drama, the cast members were a lot of fun to draw!
