Thumbnails from our last Design class assignment... ever!

This one is a cutaway; meaning we first draw the exterior of a location / prop / vehicle and then draw it's interior.

Keeping with the theme of my location design, here are some potential exteriors of Dr. Frankenstein's mansion as well as some options for his carriages. Alllllllll the reference!

Going more into the personality and day to day life of this character.

"Chel Dorado" life drawing exercise

Using our model as pose reference, we were to take a female animated character and put her into the pose. I chose Chel from Dreamwork's "Road to El Dorado". Definitely a fun exercise I'll repeat on my off time. :D

Or rather, alternative rooms in Dr. Frankenstein's mansion; including a bedroom for the child of Frankenstein character.

Colour Concepts - Child of Frankestein

After creating a tonal sketch on a cleaned up 3/4 front, it's time to play with colours! Luckily I had a bunch of classmates nearby to help with ideas... now to fit one into the background.

Digital Background Painting - Dr. Frankenstien's Laboratory

Haven't done a digital painting of this scale in a long time. Still will probably have some revisions down the line... 

The next step is integrating a character into it followed by a multi-planing camera move using Harmony.

Progress on Drapery Assignment

New Life Drawing assignment, this time we were instructed to drape an object of our choosing with a white or light-coloured linen (preferably cotton). 

It's coming along nicely so far, but I've still got a long way to go with refining the shadows.

Dog Anatomy Assignment

An excellent challenge and really fun Life Drawing assignment to figure out. It definitely helped out when it came to breaking down the poses for our dog walk cycle. Looking up reference proved to be the most difficult part for accurate muscle groupings.

Dog Walk Cycle

First animation assignment for third year. Was complicated to figure out but a lot of fun (especially using my own dog as reference)

Multi-plane Location Design (separation)

Getting into the spirit of the Hallowe'en season with Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. Had fun mixing the Victorian with steampunk and Tesla technology. Multi-plane demo to come soon!
